"Aletta Jacobs was the first woman to complete a university degree and practice medicine in the Netherlands. She drove throughout her life to change laws that limited women’s access to equality. As a Dutch suffragette, she advocated for women’s right to vote, reform in working conditions, access to healthcare and improvements in Socio – economic and political status for women."
