Introduction to the Magic of Eco-Printing

All experience levels welcome, especially those new to eco printing, those wanting a refresher, or just time to print for the day. 

Join me for a day of experiencing the magic of eco-printing, the art of extracting leaf and sometimes flower prints on fabric.  Even after doing this for many years, I still get excited with the anticipation of opening my bundles and awe of capturing nature on my fabric.  I love sharing my knowledge and watching students light up when they reveal their results.

Eco printing has multiple phases to learn and this workshop centers on the first part which is to get clear prints from leaves. We will explore which leaves will give up a print, several options on rolling bundles to get different effects, and how to rescue a piece that didn’t come out well.  We will discuss how to prepare cloth for printing but will not do this in this workshop.  Instead, I will bring prepared fabric for use in the workshop. 

Please note that the eco printed scarves in the gallery with color backgrounds involve more advanced techniques and will be covered in future advanced workshops if desired.

Supply fee includes 2 yards of various types of fabric plus a silk scarf which are pre scoured and mordanted by the instructor and use of the instructors supplies and equipment for the day.
