Oil paint will be used in all demonstrations because of their versatility. Oil paint can be used on a variety of surfaces and have many different application techniques. We will practice blending linseed oil, and thinning paint. Solvents are a necessity to clean brushes and palette knives. Students may use other mediums if they prefer. Oil paint medium is designed to alter the viscosity, surface finish or drying time of oil paint.
We recommend Blick Art Materials, Michaels, Jerry’s Artarama, and Cheap Joes for purchasing materials. Michaels often has 50% off coupons, and has a good supply of oil paints, brushes, and canvas.
