"FRIDA" MIXED MEDIA SOFT SCULPTURE

“My parrot as me. Inspired by me and my parrot .” Frida Kahlo

“I paint flowers so they don’t die. “ Frida‘s art and her life are an unapologetic exploration of female identity embedded with Mexican cultural iconography. Her work used symbols; birds, animals, insects and  flowers as emotional surrogates to transcend her physical pain and confinement. Frida‘s work shows a vibrant spiritual connection with nature and her heritage. She was a pivotal woman artist of the 20th century.
