Julia Butterfly Hill is an an environmental activist who.lived in a 200 foot tall, approximately 1,000 year old California Redwood tree for 738 days, starting in 1997 into 1999 to prevent Pacific Lumber Company loggers from cutting it down.  

She prevailed and "Luna" is currently under the stewardship of Sanctuary Forest, a non profit organization.

Julia's life emphasizes inter-connectedness and the power of individual action. "We live in a world that is full of problems and we are the solutions to those problems."
