Rebecca Kahrs’ unique paintings feature vibrant color and originality in style. From her intimate wildlife close-ups to her intricate still life’s, her work explores the rare and beautiful. “My desire is to show life in a vibrant and flourishing way, with all of the attention to color and detail that may sometimes be overlooked,” she says.

Rebecca attended Brigham Young University and The Portland Institute of Art in Portland, Oregon. As an interior design major, she fell in love with watercolors while using them in her architectural renderings and design presentations and eventually traded in her drafting tools for painting supplies. She has been a signature member of the Georgia Watercolor Society and a member of the Southern Watercolor Society. Her work has been featured several times in national publications including Watercolor Artist and Artist Magazine. In 2002 she was featured in Watercolor Artist’s annual edition of “Ones to Watch”.

Teaching has been an integral part of Rebecca’s life. She has built a strong reputation as an instructor through the many workshops and classes she has conducted over the years, including study-abroad trips in Italy and France. After a ten year sabbatical from teaching she is excited to get back to teaching and sharing her love and skills of watercolor with others.
