  • Michelle Currie Bio and Info:

Michelle Currie is a Scottish jewelry designer and Artist in Residence at The Glasgow School of Art where she graduated with a First-Class Honors degree in Silversmithing and Jewelry in 2020.
Michelle’s unique practice is inspired by science and astronomy and research into Black Holes and Gravitational Waves and driven by experimentations with ferromagnetic materials such as Iron sand collected from Scottish beaches and Ferrofluid a substance created by NASA to control liquids in space.
Michelle’s unique collections are the results of an exploration into the unseen forces that govern and shape our world. By combining silver and precious stones with ferromagnetic materials, Michelle captures the exciting variety of textures and movement created when exposing iron particles to neodymium magnets. She creates her own mixtures of iron particles that are sculpted directly onto magnetic field lines using the invisible structure as a canvas to capture the explosive moments as static ominous wearable sculptures.
