Although I love to paint, my first love is drawing, and drawing drives my work. It’s not just structure- it’s strength, vitality, dynamism. But what drives me is art with meaning- using my mind and will to either recreate something from life, or create something from nothing. For me that challenge makes art worth doing and, I believe, why it continues to play a vital role in life and culture.
